Trifles are old-fashioned desserts. But although it's not as common to see trifles gracing modern dining tables, doesn't mean they've lost any of their deliciousness.

On the contrary, with a little bit of ingenuity, you can modernize the trifle into something just as delicious and much more healthy.

Instead of the traditional spongecake-fruit-cream trifle, this recipe calls for sponge fingers and vanilla yogurt served with poached strawberries. The result is a wonderful trifle in less time with less calories!

Serving the dessert in individual bowls or brandy-balloon-style glasses makes for an impressive dinner-party finisher.
