Panna cotta, a favorite dessert amongst Italians, and now everyone else, translates to "cooked cream".
The flavoring choices for panna cotta are virtually unlimited. It can be infused with spices such as cardamon or vanilla, scented with flower essences, lightened with fruity syrups or enriched with chocolate.
In this recipe, the traditionally creamy dessert is lightened with yogurt, infused with honey and vanilla and then served with a tropical passionfruit syrup.
The panna cotta is then just set enough with gelatine so that it melts in your mouth. It's a gorgeous dessert and really simple to make at home. Despite its name "cooked cream", this particular recipe requires no cooking.
Enjoy.
