Tall, dark, steamy, sophisticated or intense – there will be something for every coffee-lover at the 12th annual Aroma Festival in Sydney on July 19.

The event is expected to attract over 100,000 visitors and will showcase coffee from around the world. Stalls will also feature tea, spices, chocolates and other sweet offerings.

Australians consume a whopping 1.2 billion cups of coffee each year. While Italian blends remain the best sellers, there’s an increasing interest in Turkish, Spanish, French and Japanese coffee.

On Sunday, Sydney's historic Rocks district will be transformed into four quarters representing different parts of the world: The Oasis, The Orient, The Continent and the Latin Quarter.

While not much of a coffee drinker myself, who doesn't love the rich, intoxicating smell of freshly ground coffee beans? I look forward to breathing air thick with the delicious aromas on Sunday.
